DC Solar Cables

PRIMECAB Solar Cables are the vital link between your PV panels and the inverter. Specifically designed for Photovoltaic (PV) power systems, our cables utilize Electron-Beam (E-Beam) cross-linked technology to ensure they survive the harshest outdoor conditions without degradation.

Built for the Outdoors (Construction)

A solar cable must be much tougher than a standard wire. Here is how PRIMECAB ensures maximum durability:

  • Conductor: Electrolytic Grade, Fine Stranded Tinned Copper (Class 5). Tinned copper is essential in solar to prevent oxidation and corrosion over decades of outdoor exposure.
  • Insulation: Electron-Beam Cross-Linked, Halogen-Free & Flame Retardant (XLPO/XLPE) compound.
  • Outer Sheath: UV-Stabilized, Ozone-Resistant, and Weatherproof XLPO. This outer layer is specifically designed to not crack or peel under 25 years of intense UV radiation.
  • Identification: Available in Red (Positive) and Black (Negative) for easy system polarity management.

Relevant IS & International Standards

Compliance is critical for solar projects. Our cables meet the latest Indian and International benchmarks:

Standard Description
IS 17293:2020 The mandatory Indian Standard for Solar DC cables up to 1500V DC.
EN 50618 / IEC 62930 International European and IEC standards for Photovoltaic cables.
IS 8130 Standards for the flexible copper conductors used.

Technical Specifications

  • Voltage Rating: 1.5kV DC (Maximum permissible system voltage up to 1.8kV DC).
  • Temperature Range: Normal Conductor temperature at 90°C and The permissible period of use at maximum conductor temperature at 120°C.
  • Bending Radius: 4 Times the cable diameter.
  • Life Expectancy: Designed for a service life of >25 years.

Why Choose PRIMECAB Solar Cables?

  • UV & Ozone Resistant: Specifically tested to withstand high-intensity sunlight and open-air environments.
  • Fire Safety: Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) properties mean that in the event of a fire, the cable produces minimal smoke and zero toxic gases.
  • Chemical Resistance: Resistant to ammonia (important for agricultural solar) and common acids/alkalis.
  • Rodent & Termite Protection: Available with specialized anti-rodent additives to prevent pests from chewing through your solar array wiring.
